Lauren Davies
Lauren Davies is from Pittsburgh, PA and majored in Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Chinese language and culture. Her time in Wake Forest Engineering has allowed her to develop skills in organization, strategic thinking and innovative path finding towards unraveling relevant solutions to critical problems. Lauren’s capstone design project, the Simplified Exercise Apparatus, aims to design an easy to use, inexpensive in-bed exercise apparatus for the lower extremities for bed bound critically ill or deconditioned patients. Her team is working under the guidance of Dr. Michael Gross and Dr. Saami Yazdani. In addition to her capstone design project, Lauren interned at PNC Bank where she worked in the Balance Sheet Analytical Modeling group.
Lauren’s favorite memory was sharing with her peers during the Thanksgiving buffet, as well as participating in the ABET accreditation celebration. Additionally, Lauren developed leadership skills as the President of the Society of Women Engineers.
Lauren’s post-graduation plans are to return to work at PNC Bank in Quantitative Analytics.
