Juliana Hopper
Juliana Hopper is from Westport, CT and is interested in civil and environmental engineering. Wake Forest Engineering has helped to cultivate her passion for engineering by allowing got the opportunity to explore diverse fields and disciplines. “Whether in the classroom, through research, or an internship, Wake Engineering has been a strongly encouraged me to try new things” shares Hopper. During her capstone senior design course, Juliana has worked to design an affordable alternative septic system that sufficiently treats raw wastewater to reduce economic hardship for lower-earning families. In addition to her capstone work, Juliana has worked on 2 undergraduate research projects, working under both Dr. Erin Henslee and Dr. Courtney Di Vittorio (Wake Forest Engineering). Her favorite engineering projects while in Wake Forest Engineering were the creation of an environmental assessment and design recommendations for the space behind Winston Hall on the WFU campus and the creation of a structural design plan for her two-story historical home.
