Santiago Leon
Santiago Leon is from Jacksonville, FL and was initially interested in Engineering because of its ability to aid in “developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills that can be applied to every area in life.” He feels that the challenges presented by the curriculum have greatly influenced him and the skills he holds today.
Leon collaborated with Dr. Pierrakos and Brandon Eberl of the Wake Forest Engineering Department on cardiovascular undergraduate research. Additionally, he read and reviewed multiple research assignments pertaining to the hemodynamics of the heart. He also helped manage the construction of several projects and the consulting of specific CPG equipment during his time as an Assistant Project Manager for The Haskell Company. On campus, Leon is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity (Delta Nu Chapter) and was elected President of the fraternity from August 2019 – May 2020.
The courses offered by the Engineering Department presented realistic simulations and “feels more like a professional environment rather than a classroom environment.” After graduation,
Santiago will be joining Wells Fargo Securities as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Industrials group in NYC after graduating.
