The Advanced Digital Studio

Located in Room 0605, the Advanced Digital Studio specializes in additive manufacturing and craft supplies. Students love to print 3D models on the 3D printers for classes and personal projects, and also make their own T-shirts with the Cricut vinyl and heat presses. Alongside this, professors utilize the space for research, such as testing and destroying 3D printed connections as a way to measure strain. The space features plenty of tables for collaborative learning and professors to host classes.

This Tinius Olsen Universal Testing Machine enables students to test materials in multiple scenarios, including compression, tension, and bending. A Digital Image Correlation camera is able to spot deformities and cracks in the materials before they even occur, providing a graph of strain and stress.

Students are also given access to electrical equipment, including a 1/2 Digit Multimeter and Triple Channel DC Power Supply.

All of the equipment is free for WFU students!
