Dr. Fikret Atalay has 16 years of experience in engineering, applied research, sustainability, energy policy, project management, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from University of South Florida, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology with a minor in Public Policy. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia. He recently co-founded Filio; a tech company for capturing, managing, and sharing visual assets (photos and videos) via a smart, cloud-based, and artificial intelligence (AI) enabled mobile and web platform. Currently, Dr. Atalay splits his time between consulting engineering and pursuing his passion for the outdoors and traveling, while also working as a mechanic at a local bicycle shop. He also periodically teaches a graduate-level Civil Engineering course at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and is an appointed member of the Sustainability Committee of the City of Dunwoody where he currently resides with his wife.
