Eric Hennessy currently serves as director of product development at Charter Medical, where he leads the design and development of single-use products, processes, and technologies. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University and Clemson University, respectively. Working throughout the medical device space for the last 20 years, Eric brings experience in management, R&D, manufacturing engineering, logistics, business operations, and contract development. These experiences have crossed over the disciplines of orthopedics, cardiovascular medicine, and gastroenterology. Eric’s current role oversees the program management of single-use development for bioprocessing and cell therapy applications. 

During his time at Charter Medical, Eric has led product development, manufacturing engineering, and maintenance programs. Prior to joining Charter, he held various professional roles at Cook Medical in Winston-Salem, NC and Bloomington, IN. Eric has authored seven patents, and received the Leadership Award from the Winston Under 40 program of Greater Winston-Salem Inc. Outside of professional endeavors, Eric has served in the Winston Salem community on various non-profit boards and organizations since 2011.
