Claire Griffin is currently a lead engineer in offshore wind at Vestas, a global wind turbine technology company. Claire was a member of the inaugural graduating class in Engineering at WFU, where she minored in Latin American and Latinx Studies and was a Presidential Scholar for Achievement in Violin Performance. Her capstone project at Wake Forest involved developing and testing a commercial prototype for a low-cost, high efficiency solar thermal device in collaboration with the Wake Forest Center for Nanotechnology and Molecular Materials. As part of the capstone, she co-authored an article published in the Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy.

In her current role at Vestas, Claire leads the technical interfaces of offshore wind deals to ensure turbine solutions meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and project constraints. Prior to this role, Claire worked at Avangrid developing HV transmission projects to facilitate renewable energy adoption.
