Research
Dr. McCoul has engaged in research at UCLA and EPFL in Switzerland, focusing primarily on dielectric elastomer actuator, or “artificial muscle”, technology, including their application to biomedicine, haptics, and soft robotics. Dr. McCoul has also performed research at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, centered around patient-customized, 3D-printable biomaterials for cardiac and other tissue engineering applications.
