Bridget Barsanti

Bridget Barsanti is from Pelham Manor, NY and initially started her journey at Wake Forest on the premed track.  After discovering Wake Forest Engineering, Bridget learned to integrate her passion for math and science to solve problems and apply herself to different engineering disciplines.  Bridget is a member of the Simplified Exercise Apparatus for Deconditioned Patients capstone senior design team where she and her peers have spent the past school year designing an in-bed apparatus that reduces muscle loss during long-term patient bedrest under the guidance of Dr. Michael Gross and Dr. Saami Yazdani (Wake Forest Engineering).  Outside of senior design, Bridget worked with Mr. Brandon Eberl (Wake Forest School of Medicine) researching cardiovascular fluid mechanics and heart valve performance.  In addition to her research, Bridget also worked as an intern for Morgan Stanley, UBS, Enertiv, and New York-Presbyterian/Weil Cornell Medical Center.

Bridget has been an active participant in the Wake Forest community, acting as treasurer for Kappa Kappa Gamma, a member of the Pre-Wall Steet Career Track, a member of the Dow Jones Club, and a member of the Finance Club.  Her favorite memory in Wake Forest Engineering has been working with her team on her capstone senior design project. “It has been great working with our client, Dr. Carmichael, and Meredith Merchant, an ICU physical therapist, to ensure our device is addressing the critical needs in this rehabilitation space” shares Barsanti.

Bridget plans to work as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York after completing her graduation.
