Julia Gass

Julia Gass is from Charlotte, NC and majored in Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Her time in Wake Forest Engineering cultivated a passion for environmental and civil engineering and an interest in computational modeling.  Julia’s capstone design project, WFU Stormwater Improvement, aims to create a solution for the reduction of stormwater erosion issues on West Creek on Reynolda Campus through means of stormwater infrastructure design.  Her team is working under the guidance of Dr. Courtney Di Vittorio and Dr. Michael Gross. In addition to her capstone design project, Julia worked at McAdams, a Civil Engineering firm specifically in their Land Development sector, where she developed here skills in AutoCAD Civil 3d.

One of Julia’s favorite memories was presenting her research at American Geophysical union annual meeting. Julia has been active during her time at Wake Forest University, working as a leader in the Capernaum program, where she has developed meaningful relationships as a mentor for teenagers and young adults with special needs. She organizes monthly events for teens and adults to challenge their limits and build self-esteem.

Post-Graduation Julia will be working at Black & Veatch, a civil / environmental firm, in their consulting sector.
