Tanner Stewart

Tanner Stewart is from Leesburg, VA and is graduating with an Engineering Major and minors in Computer Science and Mathematics. He always had an interest in broad variety of subjects that pertained to engineering and his time in Wake Forest Engineering has allowed him to develop these interests. Tanner’s capstone design project, Bioreactor Control system, led by Dr. Carlos Kengla and Dr. Olga Pierrakos aims to design a media inflow monitoring and control system for a wearable bioreactor.  In addition to his capstone design project, Tanner conducted research in cognitive flexibility under Dr. Erin Henslee. He also interned at Amentum, a government contractor, conducting error analysis and risk assessment on maintenance submarines.

Tanner’s fondest memory was participating in the engineering day celebration during his sophomore year, in particular the meme competition which were especially humorous. Tanner was the Student-Alumni Liaison for Wake West, a Tour Guide for the Ambassadors in Admissions, and a Lifeguard Instructor for the Aquatics Facility as well as a lifeguard himself.

Tanner is planning to attend Law School post-graduation.
