Tommy Taylor

Tommy Taylor is from Rural Hall, NC and is primarily interested in robotic systems and how they relate to Engineering. He participated in undergraduate research during which he investigated the effects of modifying solid-oxide fuel cell electrode materials with the goal of improving overall cell performance. He specifically assisted with mapping the thermochemical stability of LSCF and modifying LSM electrodes. His research has become one of his favorite memories from his time at Wake Forest as it became a major part of a published research paper.

Aside from his Engineering pursuits, Tommy has been primarily involved in the Theater Department and with the Wake Forest Wesley Foundation. He has performed in a university production and worked as a scene shop assistant. Additionally, Tommy has held a variety of roles within the United Methodist affiliated campus ministry including a Freshman Representative, Alumni Relations Officer, and most recently, the Music and Worship Coordinator.

Tommy feels that his senior capstone project has allowed him to “develop marketable skills that will help me achieve my career goals.” After graduation, Tommy plans to obtain his Master’s in Electrical Engineering and hopefully work on robotic systems.
