Bryan Bennett Headshot

Bryan Bennett is from Ridgewood, New Jersey and majored in Engineering with double minors in Computer Science and Neuroscience. He has always been passionate about healthcare technology and neuroscience. Bryan participated in undergraduate research with Dr. Barrella, where he studied the various types of equipment used in brain imaging and how these devices can be used to improve learning outcomes in classrooms. His decision to participate in engineering research under Dr. Barrella allowed him to learn more about the hardware and data analysis techniques used to study the brain and how this information is being used to improve learning outcomes. Bryan’s capstone project helped in his understanding of the healthcare technology space, specifically how artificial intelligence is being used to improve clinical outcomes and streamline the healthcare system. Through this project, he learned about the software and technology that is revolutionizing patient care in addition to domain-specific knowledge about the organization of the healthcare industry.

Bryan’s favorite experience in the Wake Engineering Department was his capstone project. He enjoyed being able to interact with external technical experts and clients while also applying what he’s learned in Wake Engineering to meaningful and challenging problems. While at Wake, Bryan was a data analyst intern at Livongo, an applied health signals company, where he used computational modeling concepts to create programs that analyzed and automated internal data processes. Outside of class, he was involved in various organizations including the professional business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Mindful Wake, and volunteering at a local food bank. Bryan is currently in the final rounds of interviews and plans to jump into the field after graduation
