Michael Klausner
Michael Klausner is from Reisterstown, MD and is interested in solving complex problems with his knowledge of science and math. Wake Forest Engineering has allowed Michael to cultivate his passion by exposing him to a variety of engineering disciplines and granting him the chance to garner a multitude of technical and professional skills that will help him as he continues down his career path. Michael has spent his last two semesters at Wake Forest University working with WFU Engineering Faculty Dr. Kenny, Dr. Pierrakos, and Dr. Lowman to design an interactive museum exhibit to help in the education of children who may be interested in STEM fields. In addition to his capstone project, Michael sought research opportunities and was able to intern with the Wake Forest School of Medicine, studying the effects of repetitive head impacts on youth athletes under Dr. Jillian Urban and Daniella DiGuglielmo (Wake Forest School of Medicine).
Michael’s favorite memory during his time in the program was during a creative video presentation for EGR 112 (Intro to Engineering Measurement and Analysis) where students were able to showcase Wake Forest Engineering. “I loved the showcase where we all got to present and see how everyone interpreted Wake Engineering. It was also so much fun to see everyone’s creative side come out in the class.” he shared. Michael spent his free time serving as a tour guide and Enterprise Technology Vice President for Ambassador in Admission Executive Board. He was also involved with Wake n’ Shake as the head of the Entertainment Committee and a member of the Executive Board. Michael had two internships working for Vapotherm, a ventilator design and production company, and MITRE as a Mathematics and Operations Research Intern.
After graduating, Michael plans to work for Accenture in Atlanta, GA in the technology development program.
